This is my music room website for the music department at Hemphill Elementary. I am continually updating this site as a resource for you parents, and students, at home. This is a place to find resources for the music room, the curriculum happening in our musical learning/exploring, and what is going on with all of the many music programs (choir, deadlines, times, musicals, etc.).
I am thrilled to work with all of your amazing children and I look forward to sharing my passion for the arts with them every day! Thank you for all that you do at home to support our school, community, and our fine arts programs! |

About Ms. Daniel...I have been an avid music lover all of my life! I was always in choirs when I had the chance, I sang at my family's church growing up, I loved my music class, and learned how to play the recorder and piano. I really found my love for singing in high school with a super choir director who has been an inspiration to me for a long time!
I attended Texas State University in San Marcos and was one of only 5 students to graduate with my music education degree in 4 years (it is a 5 year program). In my first school, I taught PK-8th. It was very exciting and offered a challenge. After that, I taught middle school choir in LTISD and loved the challenge of competition with my choirs. After that, I taught at Boone for 8 years now and loved growing with the program that I worked so hard to build. I also taught a year at Govalle Elementary and helped them to build their fine arts program. This is my first year at Hemphill and I could not be more thrilled! I try to challenge myself every year with new techniques, strategies, differentiation, etc. All of the effort is well worth it when I see the students confidence grow, use more leadership skills, and shine like the stars they are! In 2013-2014 school year, I was selected as Boone's Teacher of the Year. It was a GREAT honor to be chosen by that staff. I have been a member of the TMEA and MENC music educator organizations. I am looking forward to being a part of such a great community! |
